Mother's Day Weekend

We headed over to Maupin to celebrate Mother's Day with Grant's family. It was great to see his grandparents. They are the most wonderful people. The weather was perfect and we spent a lot of time out doors. They have a calf on their property whose mother died during birth. Grant's aunt and uncle have an old horse named Smokey who has "adopted" the calf. Hazel loved petting the horse and calf. The best part of the weekend involved Hazel and Grant's aunt feeding the calf from a large bottle. I (unfortunately) forgot my camera at the other house and could not capture the moment. It was one of the most wonderful things I have ever seen. Hazel was vibrating with excitement.
