Summer Fun

I can not believe that it is July. We have had a wonderful summer and thanks to nice weather, we have been outside most of the time. Hazel is getting so big and talking so much. It is so much fun to have conversations with her. Here is a summary of our last month.

Hazel loves my sunglasses and wears them whenever she gets a chance.

Last weekend we returned to the Sandy River to enjoy a nice walk and to allow the dogs to swim and chance the ball. We spent about 3 hours at the river (walking and throwing the ball). Hazel did not want to stay in the stroller for very long and preferred to walk. This was somewhat challenging, but we persevered and made it to the river. She is obsessed with water right now. It is so much fun.

In early June, we headed to the beach with the Jendritza family. We camped in Astoria. The weather was a little chilly, but the kids loved the water. They took off their clothes and ran around in the ocean. Cooper and Hazel continue to play really well together. We just love the beach so much (especially the dogs).

We had a BBQ with the Cassie family. Beyla is getting so big and she is just so cute!!! The girls had a great time together, playing on the slide and walking up and down our stairs. I wished we got to see these guys more often. Our schedules have been challenging to match.

In early June, Portland celebrates the Rose Festival. It is a fabulous few week festival full of carnival rides, parades, boat races, and music. We headed out to the rose festival parade this year. We met the Jendritzas and the Pop family (Hazel's nanny and her boys). Hazel had a great time. She especially loved seeing the horses. The first picture is of Jennfer (her nanny) and her boys (Dominque and Nicholas). As you can tell, she absolutely loves these boys. It is so cute. I feel so lucky to have such an amazing family to watch Hazel while I am at work.

The summer has brought many scrapes. There was a few week period, where Hazel's knees looked like a war zone. Here is a picture of the evidence. We switched shoes and things improved a little. She loves running and I suppose bumps and scrapes are a right of passage.

Hazel has finally allowed me to put her hair in "pig tails". The moment is rare and she usually rips them out, but I try again and again.
